Kristen Steward x Balenciaga 

The ad campaign for Balenciaga’s new Florabotanica fragrance, and Nicolas Ghesquiere’s second for the label, features Kristen Steward in a structural floral dress from SS 2008 (the very same used in Jennifer Connelly’s ’08 campaign) standing straight at the camera. Shot by Steven Meisel, the ad portraits Steward in her usual laid-back attitude, her hair lightly tousled and a smudge of dark red lipstick and grey eyeshadow to give her a rock chic edge. Not the typical 'sexy' perfume campaign which inferred the intention to appeal a younger audience. The 22 year-old “On the road” and “Twilight” actress admits she’s never worn fragance before and she did it for Ghesquiere without knowing anything about what it would smell like.

The fragrance itself, that has been described as “not just a pretty flower, but a dangerous flower”, contains notes of vetiver, amber and caladium-leaf accord, a (hybrid) rose, carnation and mint accord, according to WWW.

The eau de parfum will be release this September. I can’y wait to smell the real thing!

La campaña de Balenciaga para su nueva fragancia Florabotanica, y la segunda de Nicolas Ghesquiere para la marca, es protagonizada por Kristen Steward enfundada en un vestido floral estructurado de la colección Verano 2008 (el mismo usado por Jennifer Connelly en la campaña del ’08) y parada enfrente de la cámara. Fotografiada por Steven Meisel, la campaña retrata a Steward en su usual actitud relajada, su cabello ligeramente despeinado, una mancha difuminada de lápiz labial rojo oscuro y sombra gris para darle un perfil rock-chic. No es la típica campaña “sexy” de perfume lo cual infiere la intención de apelar a una audiencia más joven. La actriz de 22 de años de “on the road” y de “Twilight” admite que nunca antes había usado una frangancia y que aceptó por Ghesquiere sin saber de que se trataba ni como iba a oler. La fragancia, que ha sido descripta como “ no simplemente una flor, sino una flor peligrosa”, contiene notas de vetiver, amber y notas de hojas de caladium, una rosa híbrida, clavel y notas de menta, de acuerdo a WWW.

El “eau de parfum” será lanzado al mercado en Septiembre. No puedo esperar a sentir el perfume en vivo!
