Merci pour merci
A new stunning 1,500m² store 'merci' opened in early march 2009 in Paris as an answer to questions such as: how to be supportive? How to generate funds in a non perenial way without charity or donations?
The response was the energie, the talent and the time to create this idea: a store that offers a carefully curated collection & unique pieces from fashion and interiors designers alongside with a flower shop by Christian Tortu , the Annick Goutal laboratory to create your own fragrance ,a bistro in the basement , and a literary café where you can rest with a cup of tea while reading second hand books in many languages that come from gifts (each book is rubberstamped within with 'merci' and the name of its donor and can be bought for 5 euros)
Top brands such as Isabel Marant, Jérôme Dreyfuss, Marni, Paul & Joe, Stella McCartney, Swildens, and much others are creating special styles for ‘merci’ and conceding their profit margin to a foundation set up to help deprived children in the poorest countries in the World, especially in Madagascar. Hence the name: 'merci'.
The layout and looks of the store are “very lifestyle” with the modern mixed in with traditional and second-hand items.
For all the above mentioned: MERCI A VOUS pour ‘merci’.
